Agumbe..Malgudi and Kasturiakka..

This is precisely the place where the teleserial "Malgudi Days" was shot and guess what, this is precisely the place where I spent the last 2 days..Welcome to Agumbe , the wettest place in Southern India , and the abode of the grandmotherly and ever smiling Kasturiakka..Nestled close to the western edges of the western ghats, about 50km from the coast is the picturesque village of agumbe. This unassuming place is the abode of kasturiakka, a 65 year old female who lords over agumbe with her warmth and compassion. She is the lord of the house which keeps its doors open to visitors anytime , day and night. As a visitor you are treated with konkani food spiced with grandmotherly warmth at a cost that you deem fit. The two days I spent here was blissful indeed..A few pics here
